Sucker Punch won't do crap to a Sub Disable Gengar >.<

Hitmontop used Sucker Punch!
But if failed...

Gengar used Substitute!

Hitmontop used Sucker Punch!
But it failed...

Gengar used Disable!

Then lands AT LEAST 3 Shadow Balls to kill Hitmontop so yea I don't agree with you on that Vex :/ but once again this is just my opinion

It was just an example of Pokémon that use Substitute - don't have a go at me about it. Also consider that it will be useful against faster Psychic-types that would normally destroy it, too - Latias, Espeon, etc.

Also consider;

Hitmontop used Stone Edge!
Hitmontop's attack missed!

or

Hitmontop used Hi Jump Kick!
Hitmontop kept going and crashed!

Vex inadvertently pointed out a pokemon that provides a huge amount of trouble to your entire team. Without Volcarona, Subdisable Gengar pretty much runs over your team.

Metagross/Scizor would both be banded, thus not a problem for sub disable gengar. (Metagross is 2hko'd by Shadow Ball)

Jellicent freaks out and runs away from Gengar in any shape or form.

Focus blast + Disable handles Mixed Hydreigon, and Disables Dragon Pulse on Sub+3 attacks Hydreigon. Killing it again with ease.

That Gliscor is hard countered by Gengar.

Nidoking is outsped and 2hko'd.

Ferrothorn cannot handle the Gengar.

It's not amazingly common, but it can destroy teams.

I agree on that. Gengar can be a wicked destroyer if you let it run and lay waste to your team.
