I want to know what Pokémon you think would fit into the Chinese Zodiac. I think this:
Rat: Rattata/Ratticate
Ox: Bufflant/Taraus
Tiger: Growlithe/Archenine
Rabbit: Buneri/evolution
Dragon: obviously dragon types, but also Gyrados
Snake: Arbok/Ekans/Seviper
Horse: Rapidash/Ponyta
Goat: the new goat Pokémon
Monkey: they made how many monkeys
Rooster: Blaziken
Dog: probably 5th gen's dogs
Pig: Tepig and family/ Spoink and its evolution
(sorry that I miss-spelled some and didn't know others)

That's a very interesting concept =)

Rat: Definitely Rattata (can't think of any other rat pokemon lol)
Ox: I think Tauros matches the description more
Tiger: This one is hard. Considering that Arcanine is technically a dog pokemon... I think Raikou would match this one more.
Rabbit: Bunneary/Lopunny or Plusle/Minun (if you think of the ears lol)
Dragon: I'd think Rayquaza would match perfectly for this one
Snake: hmm... Arbok or Seviper lol
Horse: Rapidash is a nice choice.
Goat: Gogoat obviously lol
Monkey: Let's use Aipom (cuz he's silly lol)
Rooster: I wouldn't choose Blaziken, I'd much rather choose it's 2nd evolution, Combusken because it looks more like a Rooster.
Dog: I'd choose Growlithe, or the Lilipup evolutions
Pig: Tepig (cuz he's cute lol)

and the forgotten cat (if you watched fruits basket): Meowth lol

I never watched fruits basket, so I wouldn't know, but those are good ideas.

The Chinese New Year is coming quickly. Soon it will be the year of the Horse.

Honestly I really loved Gen V despite the hate some fans give it. But those fans just dont know how to let go of the past and accept the future.

I have to disagree with you on that. The younger people are more likely to accept change, but older people like me are liking the newer generations less and less because we could on.y change a little bit. I'm a gen twoer, but I accepted third gen and a little bit of fourth gen, but I got tuned away. But, I still like Pokémon.

Hmm, as far as generations go, it's really hard for me to pick a favorite. I myself am a long time Pokemon fan (since I was 5), and enjoy all generations. ^^

Since this thread is about the Zodiac, I'll put my two cents in too:

Rat: Quilava or Emolga
Pig: Tepig
Dog: Mightyena or Growlithe
Rooster: Combusken
Monkey: Infernape
Sheep: Mareep or Flaafy
Horse: Rapidash (or maybe even PokéSun's very own Aldo/era! ;D)
Snake: Serperior or Zygarde
Dragon: Rayquayza (he looks most like a Chinese dragon)
Rabbit: Lopunny
Tiger: Raikou (Luxray and Pyroar are lions, but they're pretty close)
Ox: Tauros

Cat (that got pushed into the river by the stinkin' Rat during the Jade Emperor's birthday race -_-): Meowstic

Those are good ideas. I never thought about Quilava being a mouse/rat. I thought Gyrados looked like a Chinese Dragon, but I think you are more right that Rayquayza is more of the Chinese Dragon.

Well, Cyndaqil is recorded in the Pokédex as a "Fire Mouse" Pokémon, so I thought: "well rats are bigger than mice, and Cyndaquil evolves into Quilava... ah what the heck!" X3
Now that I think of it, Quilava looks a bit more like a weasel, but we can just say he's a tailless rat. ;D

I agree that Gyarados looks very much like a Chinese dragon, but I personally prefer my Chinese dragons to have at least 2 appendages if not 4. :3

You know it would be kool for a game to talk alot about the zodiac and have it as a mini theme in the game such as the story of mysterious towers in previous games. Maybe they will make new pokemon just for that.
