The title says it all....what kind of battle strategy do you prefer to use? Are you a Staller? A set up sweeper? Status abuser?

Everybody has a different battle strategy and they each can be effective if used properly. I used to rely HEAVILY on stalling out my opponent (still do some) but I am leaning more and more towards setting up bulk Pokemon and turning them into sweepers now a days.....don't know why....I just am really starting to like that kind of strategy Tongue

As in my case strategies tend to change and in each battle you will more than likely have to adapt your strategy around what your opponent is doing to ensure you are victorious. So if you want to talk about your current strategy and why you like it so much, need help developing an effective strategy, or seeing which strategies perform the best then feel free to post on here and share your information or ask a question!

I play very recklessly, a sort of IRL thing I do. I usually play any game recklessly, put my foot to the gas, go for the throat, etc.

But, I can back up my recklessness in some games because I have the talents to play from behind or ahead.

In Pokemon, it's not the best strategy, but I win about as much as I lose, because usually the reckless strategy pays off.

Run and gun can be effective depending on why kind of team your opponent has Tongue if they have a bunch of Pokemon that need to set up before they can do a lot of damage (like the majority of my teams) then you could easily tear through their team with relative ease. Against a stall team however you would probably be dead in the water since they are made for long term battles which can really hurt a run and gun team in just a few turns by laying on status moves and causing tons of residual damage while simply healing themselves every time they take damage.

I have run into many a stall teams in my losses. Which is why I don't like playing competitively with the "run and gun" strategy.

I just want to play any game with my foot to the floor, and if I lose, I blame my team and not myself, because I know my strategy is really good given the correct circumstances.

Well yea any team is good under ideal circumstances....but a REALLY good team is able to adapt their strategy around the opponents team and still come out on top.....and you can't really blame your team since you are the one controlling them -_- and I must say that at least half of the matches that I have lost were because of my own human error...not making a switch when I should have, switching at the wrong time, using an attack when I KNOW the opponent is going to switch to a counter....stuff like that

Yes, human error can be very crippling. You can have the best team or the best strategy, but making one wrong move basically puts you up the creek without a paddle.

I never make a team without scrafty anymore.
It's too good, and unless your opponent has a dedicated counter its very hard to stop.
My strategies are always mixed, I generally have a scout, a staller, one or two walls, a lead/anti lead, one hard hitting revenge killer, and one potential sweeper.
