Jeremy Death Here with another guide, this time were going to be focusing on a particular move set/ability set.

A Highly underrated move in competitive play is something call Focus Energy.

Focus Energy raises critical chance by +1, and mixed with a scope lense, has either almost a 100% chance to Critical hit, or it actually has 100% chance. (i honestly dont know, ive yet to not crit with this move/item set.)

Now Critical hits are really rather powerful, but get an extreme boost from the ability sniper, causing a x3 attack bonus. Thats basically having two sword dances up. The Best pokemon I've found that has this particular move set/ability is kingdra. Kingdras stats arent terrible, they just arent good with no ability breaching 100, and only 85 base speed, its basically unusable.

That is if you arent supporting right. Kingdra with sniper and max attack and speed evs can 1 hit anything if you get the focus energy up and have a scope lense. The only issue is setting up and then actually outspeeding anything. Kingdras base 95 def and sp.d can help it tank one non super effective unboosted hit and due to its typing its only hit super effective by fairy and dragon. Now the issue is outspeeding. With the base 85 speed max investment and timid nature, Kindra hits 150 at lvl 50, which is quite honestly pitiful, that is until you get sticky web up.

Now heres were we start to get fancy. Kingdra with that speed fighting anything unboosted should outspeed almost anything (im excluding choice scarfed greninja and the like, but who honestly runs that). But thats not all, it also get access to a beautiful move called Dracometeor.
"But jeremy, wont his stats drop every use and become useless?"
Shut up, im getting there.

Dracometeor does drop his stats by -2, but thats not an issue for sniper Kingdra. You see Critical hits dont count negative stat boost towards your final damage, therefore making a x3 130 base power move hitting reliable for massive damage.

this creates a superpowerful nuke that will blow up in the face of anything but a sp.d steel type, or a fairy type.

The biggest issue you will encounter when running this set is of course the set up, but also eliminating any scarfers, as well as a sashed pokemon. This can Be easily accomplished through use of a semi fast hard hitting pokemon, (I like Scarf Darmanitan for coverage), A sticky weber (galvantula is my personal favorite), and somone to set up rocks (you can basically pick anyone who sets up rocks, they all pretty much work).

Another viable way to run this is the same set up, but instead of sticky web run a rain dancer and give Kingdra swift swim. You wont have the x3 hit, but its a lot easier to set up.

If you see any issues with my guide feel free to leave a comment and ill be sure to add it.

Hopefully you have fun with this set, and till next time Jeremy Out Big Grin

Another great Pokemon that can utilize Focus Energy is Hydreigon. It doesn't have access to Sniper, but it does have Levitate giving it an immunity, so it's crits won't be dealing as much damage BUT it is a bit more offensively threatening thanks to it's 125 base Sp Atk and 98 base Speed. Has decent defenses in 92/90/90 as well so it is able to shrug off a few weaker hits.

It is also fully capable of firing off Draco Meteors as well as the easily spamable Dark Pulse and can round out it's coverage with either Earth Power, for Steel Types, or Flash Cannon, for Fairy types. Fire Blast is also an option but really the first 2 are much better options since Hydra is UU and doesn't have to worry about Scizor/Ferrothorn. Forretress is in UU but is so weak on the Special side Dark Pulse is easily able to 2HKO it since it does have Sturdy and all making a clean OHKO impossible.
