I made two banners to escape the boredom of the day. Enjoy them!

This was a super quick banner I made to celebrate Lehigh's historical victory over Duke last night.

Bump. I'd really like more critiques on what I'm doing and how I can improve the quality of my banners please.

I´m not much of a banner maker, but i think i can help a bit.
Also not sure what program do you use, these tips are mostly using a program with layers capabilities and some "effects" for them (like multiply and overlay).

-Instead of using a solid color for background, try adding a texture on top of it, maybe add a paper texture on another layer and set it to multiply (if it gets too dark, you can lower the opacity of the layer).
-Text: try looking for more interesting fonts, there are a lot of them online so you just need to search a bit =P
-Try to check the colors, for example on your last banner, the brown part is hard to read with a black background.

I would like to add more, but im a bit tired now to explain about color theory and all that stuff XP

I use Paint.NET. And I've downloaded a handful of fonts from "The Price is Right" US game font website, but I haven't found many good opportunities to use them.

I had a brief problem with my Photobucket account, but managed to find out the problem and I can upload images again.

I couldn't upload anything for the past few days, but I didn't really have anything to upload anyway...
